Game Master Anthony here. Here's my review of
Sonic Advance.
(The first one.) Hope it's to your liking.
Graphics- 10/10
The graphics are nice and crisp, making good use
of the GBA's
abilities, and the animations are nice and detailed
for each of the
characters and enemies. Even the graphics in the
Chao Garden make
nice use of the GBA's abilities.
Sound- 9/10
The stage themes are kicking...the sound effects
are well done.
All very good. My only complaint is I wish they
could've found a
way to include the characters' voices!
Gameplay - 8/10
Plays just like the old Genesis titles...but with better
control.
With four characters to choose from (Sonic, Tails,
Knuckles, Amy),
you can even replay the levels and find new ways
to beat them.
Nothing to complain about, except the fact a lot of
the levels and
enemies can get repetitive.
Replay Value- 9/10
Well...after you beat the game and find all the
specials, there
isn't much you can do. However...the fact that you
can link the
game to the Gamecube for some Chao raising
adds some replay ability
to it, though not much.
Overall- 8/10
This is a must for any Sonic fan...especially if you're
a fan of the
old Genesis games!
