The name of the latest title for SEGA’s most popular character “Sonic” on the Nintendo Wii™ will be “SONIC and the Secret Rings”.

As well as the controls taking full advantage of the Wii™ controller functions, Sonic and the Secret Rings allows users to enjoy Sonic in real “high-speed action”.  Players can quickly avoid various obstacles or enemies by tilting the controller to either side, or they can attack enemies and destroy obstacles by swinging the controller forward. Moreover, in addition to the main gameplay, there will be many mini games that can be played together with friends.

Sonic’s new adventure starts in the pages of a storybook telling the classic tale, Arabian Nights, but the last few pages from the book have gone missing, and it’s up to Sonic to re-create the story. Sonic and the Secret Rings will be the first game since the original 15 years ago where Sonic will battle his enemies alone. By combining new ways of expressing light, water and wind, Sonic and the Secret Rings brings the unique appeal of Persia to the world of Sonic, whilst simultaneously maintaining the appeal of the series.

Sonic and the Secret Rings has several secrets of the “Ring” hidden throughout the game. One of these is the secret of “Ring Spirit” with whose power Sonic will gain great abilities different from his usual skills and adding to the unique new feel of using the Wii™ Controller!
