What's up on TSW - May 2k6

Hey, Wes here! This article is part of the new Birthday Bash for TSW! Today we're celebrating the 4th Birthday of TSW!

The reason we've been rather light on updates recently is due to the fact of this upcoming Birthday celebration. In addition we've each been fighting off that plague known as Real Life. Even with these we've managed to once again pool our resources to bring you something we hope you enjoy!

Here's a list of our highlights:

Neo Gaming Sector Revised

Game Reviews

Message Board Skin Added

New Music Videos

It's a tad light but we've done our best. The end (and beginning for some of us...) of school is here. Finals will be reigning but when they're gone then more regular updates will follow this B-day Bash!

As Always, don't forget to help out the people you know who're lookin for what we have here on The Sonic World!

Wes (WSonic) And here is where the Admin's updates are!"

5/13/2006 - SEGA's Continued Existence

During the console wars, SEGA's Genesis defeated both the NES an SNES in sales. If nowhere else, than at least in the US. This was not just due to it's technology but also due to its games. SEGA had an affinity, like most game designers of the time, to create interesting games which had never been seen before. To hear them described it sometimes sounds like the games were developed under dubious circumstances. Examples:

Rocket Knight Adventures/Sparkster: A possum who is the leader of a band known as the "Rocket Knights" fights evil pigs bent on galactic domination through revival of ancient evil technology. He wields a magic sword and fights using his abilities as well as the rocket pack suited with his armor.

Ecco: Dolphins, aquatic puzzles, Aliens, and Time Travel. This game has the most interesting set of components. Who would ever have though of using a dolphin to fight aliens in time?

Sonic the Hedgehog: A blue rodent moving at super fast speeds collecting rings and strange stones to defeat a fat megalomaniacal scientist. The very concept of this is rather comical and almost silly if someone mentions it like this.

Other games have cropped up over time. Interesting things whose intended purpose was to be innovative, a technique that is now being ventured upon more heavily than before by Nintendo. Slowly the lack of new games removed the support needed for the advanced gaming technology owned by SEGA. Had it not been for a lack of games the Saturn and Dreamcast could have been grand successes.

Even after the loss of building systems and hardware, the better portion of SEGA's recent ability, SEGA continued. Subsisting on sequels, continuations of franchises, sports games, and the occasional addition of ingenuity in gaming SEGA has made a rather strong comeback. True SEGA fans, and even fair weather friends, have held onto the occasional good games that appear. Unfortunately SEGA has now taken another downward step which could prove to be its undoing if left unchecked.
